“A Night with Tchaikovsky & Gershwin†– The Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto is world famous and one of the hallmarks of professional violinists around the world. Tchaikovsky only wrote one concerto for the violin and Long Beach Symphony’s Jacqueline Suzuki will be performing it accompanied by Brendan White. Each season, this piece is usually performed with full orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl with some renowned violinists.
The second part of the program is Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue performed by Brendan White. This piece was popular during WWII and combined classical and jazz elements. Gene Kelly, the American actor/dancer/singer performed it in his iconic film An American in Paris.
